Aimee Targovnik

MA, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist

Aimee received her master’s degree in occupational therapy from New York University. Her undergraduate degree was earned at Connecticut College where she majored in psychology based human relations. Aimee has extensive experience working with children ages 2-22.

She has practiced in school-based settings, including preschool and a non-public school for children with moderate to severe autism spectrum disorder. In addition, Aimee has experience working in a private sensory integration clinic in New York City, where she worked part-time for 13 years. Aimee also worked part-time in home based therapy for 5 years.

Aimee is trained in The Administration and Interpretation of The Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT). In addition, Aimee has been trained in The Wilbarger Deep Pressure and Proprioceptive Technique, Therapeutic Listening, DIR Floortime, Handwriting Without Tears, M.O.R.E.: Integrating the Mouth with Sensory and Postural Functions and Behavior Management.

Aimee is always eager to learn new strategies and techniques to better help her clients. Aimee absolutely loves working with children and their families. She prides herself on developing positive and trusting relationships with children so that they can make progress and achieve goals with warm and nurturing support.

Aimee sees children through a holistic lens and enjoys working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and other providers to ensure carryover and generalization in all areas of a child’s life
